sorry to be the corrector dude, but Ry Cooder was in LIttle Village, not Lindley.

Lindley has not been a part of Jackson's touring band in a long long long time. They did a superb acoustic duo tour in 1987 with a fairly well traded SBD boot from the Santa Cruz, CA show that is worth getting if you can find it. Almost as much talking as music playing, but funny as hell and the playing is fantastic. They did another acoustic duo tour in 2006, too, and maybe some shows here and there after that.

El Rayo X was a great quirky band, their first two albums are really great (El Rayo X and Win This Record) and they were very good live. Wish I got to see them. I have not seen Lindley in years, but I can imagine he's still great if you like a solo, world music, very eccentric personality stringed instrument virtuoso kind of performance. I wish he'd get El Rayo X back together for the full band treatment and raunchy delicious electric guitar tones!

You're right about Little Village - I have the cd and still play it. I loved every one of the band. And El Rayo X too. I have 3 records and saw them in LA. They were a great band. And Lindley's gifted. And weird. And introduced me to some nifty songs. It's just been a long time so I was checking. Oh hell, and a big shout out to John Hiatt, one of the great song writers.

Trump needs a corrector dude.

Ha ha ha, Trump and his cronies need a lot more than a corrector, they need an eliminator, IMO!

Yeah, as I'm sure you know the Hiatt album Bring The Family that was the origin of the Little Village thing has those guys (Nick Lowe, Cooder, Hiatt and Jim Keltner) playing Hiatt's strongest songs live in the studio recorded in like 3 days or something. Awesome.

Then Hiatt would tour with Sonny Landreth and those Louisianna dudes The Goners. Man, was that ever a hot band for that kind of music! I saw the 1988 Hiatt and the Goners tour at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, super great show.
